Captain Max Dispoto>>

USCG MASTER

Captain Max is one of the youngest Shimano Pro-Staffers ever for Saltwater Sportfishing. His relentless nature on the water and gut instincts beyond his years have already made him a force to be reckoned with on waters both inshore and offshore alike.

Growing up fishing the waters of Block Island Sound since he was 7 years old has allowed him to know the area and fisheries 'like the back of his hand'. Expanding from the inshore waters of Block Island Sound, he quickly became a natural at fishing all offshore waters of the Northeast. Since then, his dedication to being on the water every single day during the season has given him more knowledge and experience than the average fisherman can collect in his lifetime.

Max is a XL Striped Bass Expert fishing waters of Rhode Island, a skilled Jigging and Popping captain, and an expert at catching Giant Bluefin Tuna; as well as Northeast Canyons fishing specializing in day time deep drop swordfishing.

Capt Jack Sprengel >>

USCG MASTER / RESCUE DIVER/ EMT

Nicknamed the “Jesse James” of angling, Capt Jack Sprengel is known for his edgy style and unique approach to the sport.

A recreational angler by the age of 6, Jack’s professional career in Sport Fishing started at the age of 14 when he was hired by a local tackle shop.  There he was able to learn all aspects of the industry, not only from the marketing and retail perspective, but nearly every single form of sport fishing available today. The Captain learned by paying attention to the old-timers, working with commercial fisherman and by getting out and honing his own unique style. By the age of 16 he was dialed in enough that shop customers began to pay him for the day to jump on their boats and help them catch more fish. Between the knowledge from his store connections and the opportunity to have targeted so many different species on different vessels, he was able to develop an elite network of allies and a solid skill for helping others connect with fish.

Now in his early 30’s Capt Jack has over 2 decades of professional angling experience. In this time he has traveled the world in search of trophy game-fish, landing species from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, The Caribbean Sea, The Gulf of Mexico as well as numerous freshwater lakes, rivers and streams in the United States, Central/South America and Europe.

An active writer and photographer Jack has been both featured and published in numerous outdoor publications including: “Saltwater Sportsman,” “Sport Fishing Magazine,” “On the Water,” “The Fisherman,” “Nor-east,” “Field and Stream,” “Jig and Pop the World” “FishTrack.com” and even in non-angling publications like “Rhode Island Monthly” and “Pool and Billiard” Magazines for his extreme angling style. He also literally helped write the book on freshwater fishing in Rhode Island for “The Freshwater Guides of New England” series. The Captain has also been featured on multiple episodes of Destination America's Sportfishing Television and  made appearances on Discovery/Animal Planets Off The Hook: Extreme Catches, Spike TV’s coverage of The Monster Shark Tournament,  ABC’s  “Fishing the Ocean State,” "WPRI's The Rhode Show," The MSNBC News Webpage and Boston Sports Radio 1510 “The Zone.”

As an active student of marine science and an avid promoter of the sport, Jack has traveled throughout the country giving audio-visual seminars, live demonstrations and other presentations on sport fishing and other maritime topics.  Some of his affiliates for these events are: The Shimano Corp, Bass Pro Shops, West Marine, The Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts’s Marine Trade Associations, The Newport Yachting Group, The International Game Fish Association, Nordhavn Yachts, The Massachusetts Striped Bass Association, The Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association and literally hundreds of other regional sport fishing: Shops, clubs and trade shows. 2013-2016 Capt Jack was recruited to head the fishing presence and seminar series at the Providence and Newport Boat Shows.
